Teams from public schools, independent schools, and home school groups will participate in the third Wisconsin middle school regional National Science Bowl competition. The winning team will advance to the National Science Bowl in Washington, D.C. later in the spring.

The competition will consist of a round robin qualifying tournament in the morning followed by a double elimination tournament for qualifying teams in the afternoon. Lunch will be provided for participating students and teachers. In the morning, various science outreach groups will lead students in hands-on activities when the students are not competing. UW-Madison policy dictates that all minors must be accompanied by an adult (over the age of 18) at all times.
