Get Driver Authorization Approval 2 Weeks Before You Travel

If you plan to use a UW fleet vehicle or your personal vehicle for UW purposes, you must complete the appropriate Driver Authorization form. This must be completed before traveling (please allow 2 weeks).  You must be an authorized driver if you plan on submitting a reimbursement request for mileage OR parking (requests will be denied if you are not an authorized driver).

Also, you must be registered through our department (UDDS code is A481500) . You can check to see if you’ve already completed the authorization at http://riskinfo.bussvc.wisc.edu/DrAuth/DriverAuth.aspx?%20

If you need to register please complete one of the following:

  • Faculty and staff who have had a Wisconsin driver's license for 3 or more years can complete the application online: https://wneta.bussvc.wisc.edu/VUA/VUA_Policies.aspx
  • Faculty and staff with out-of-state licenses or who have had a Wisconsin license for less than 3 years: Submit faculty/staff form and notarized driving record (see Char Horsfall in Business Office to notarize)
  • Students with out-of-state licenses or who have had a Wisconsin license for less than 3 years: Submit student form and notarized driving record (see Char Horsfall in Business Office to notarize)
