Please join us for the Department Teaching Award Symposium on Friday, December 21, at 3:30 pm in Seminar Hall (1315) to honor the recipient of the Taylor Award for Teaching Excellence and the Outstanding Chemistry Teaching Assistant Awards. This symposium will be followed by a reception in honor of our awardees at 4:30 pm in the Shain Atrium.

Paul Hooker is the recipient of the James W. Taylor Teaching Award, and will speak about his teaching approach and philosophy.

Please join us for the departmental colloquium on Friday, Oct. 20th at 3:30 in RM 1315. 

Dr. Shilagh Mirgain, a clinical psychologist at UW-Madison, will be talking about the topics of grit, motivation, goal-setting and mindfulness.  She will be sharing some of her research findings, experiential exercises and stories to highlight simple strategies that scientists can do to be successful in their academic and personal lives.

This colloquium is sponsored by the Catalyst program, the UW-Madison Graduate School and PPG.
