Though Sam is a mere undergraduate, he is already one of the more senior members in the lab (having joined the group at the beginning of Fall 2006). His interests in lab currently include some possible studies of the properties of water. Outside of the lab, Sam's interests best characterize him as something of a modern hippie. Notice the long hair above (his hat is not shown, but accents the hippiness nicely). He likes Apple products of all kinds, organic food, indie music, and wishes he could live on the East side of Madison. Though it is not a distinctly hippie-ish interest, he does enjoy being an ultimate frisbee player and team leader (in the Madison UF Association). He's also kind of a genius.
