--ultrafast coherent multidimensional spectroscopy: doubly and triply resonant mixed frequency-time domain approach;

--picosecond time and frequency resolved  infrared-Raman spectroscopy;

--femtosecond pump-probe spectroscopy: transient absorption, time-resolved fluorescence;

--second harmonic and sum frequency generation in chiral media and at the surface.

Chemical physics and biophysics:

--coherent intramolecular vibrational and electronic coupling;

--vibrational energy transfer in polyatomic molecules;

--photo-physics and photochemistry of photochromic compounds in UV/visible and near-IR region;

--primary events, charge transfer and nonlinear properties of photochromic proteins.

Material science:

--electron transfer in artificial photosynthetic systems and photovoltaic sells;

--electro-optical properties of organic semiconductors and self-assembled monolayers;

--nonlinear optical spectroscopy of molecular nanostructures.

Laser physics: design and development of femtosecond and picosecond laser systems, diode laser systems, sources of ultrashort IR and microwave (THz) pulses.
