Ram Neupane

B.A. (Chemistry), Connecticut College, 2005

Joined the Landis Group in 2005

2nd year graduate student

e-mail: neupane@chem.wisc.edu

Research Description:

Ram is currently working on the asymmetric hydroformylation of allylic alcohols, their silyl ethers, and other derivatives using various rhodium catalysts developed in the Landis group.  He hopes to explore the applications of asymmetric hydroformylation of these substrates in synthetic organic chemistry - as possible precursors to more complex organic molecules.

Fun Fact:

Ram can throw a bowling ball 33 yards.
