Shvo's Hydroxycyclopentadienyl Ruthenium System

We have studied the reduction of polar unsaturated species by the ruthenium hydride monomer, which contains both an acidic and a hydridic hydrogen. These reductions occur through a concerted mechanism in which both hydrogens are simultaneously transferred to the substrate outside of the coordination sphere.
