Judith was born in Boston,
Massachusetts, and lived as a child many exciting places including London,
Pittsburgh, and New Jersey. She received a B.A. from
Cornell University,
a Ph.D. from
UCLA (Joan Valentine), and her
post-doctoral training at
MIT (Stephen
Lippard). She has been on the UW faculty since 1990. In addition to her role
as head honcho and cheerleader for the group, Judith teaches General Chemistry,
Inorganic Chemistry, and Bioinorganic Chemistry. In her spare time, Judith
enjoys spending time with her family, cross-country skiing, biking, and reading
mysteries. She maintains a long-standing connection to Woods Hole, MA where her
interest in science was sparked at the
Children's School of Science.
Her dream for retirement is to join the
UW Hoofers Sailing Club
and beat her son in a race!
