Who Should Join?
Anyone with an interest in chemistry is invited to join SA-ACS! We recommend that all chemistry majors join, as you'll likely be full members of ACS once you graduate.
What do we do?
Our goal as an organization is to help you make the most of your undergraduate career as a chemistry major here at UW-Madison. We want to help you network with both professors and other chemistry majors, we want you to learn about the opportunities you have on campus, and we want to help prepare you for the world after college. The events we schedule each semester are planned with these goals in mind, so make the most of them! For a list of our the events we've scheduled this semester, view our Events Schedule.
How to Join!
Becoming a member of SA-ACS is very simple - just attend one of our meetings and sign in with your e-mail address. If you'd like to get information about our organization before our next meeting, e-mail our president and you will be added to our mailing list. Once you're on the mailing list, all you have to do is attend a minimum of two meetings per semester in order to be considered an active member. If you're on Facebook, you can check out our group, "ACS (Madison Chapter)," to get more updates and reminders about upcoming events.Official Membership
There is no membership fee for joining the UW-Madison chapter of the student affiliates. However, you may become an official student affiliate by registering with the ACS. This does require a membership fee, but provides you with additional opportunities not offered by the UW-Madison chapter, including a subscription to Chemical and Engineering News, which is a great way to keep up on current events in chemistry.
