When pursuing a chemistry major, the undergraduate student must meet all general requirements of the college, along with the chemistry major requirements. This curriculum provides excellent preparation in chemistry, along with a wide breadth of liberal arts coursework.

The chemistry course degree leads to the Bachelor of Science-Chemistry. The chemistry course degree curriculum, set entirely by the Department of Chemistry, lacks the liberal arts breadth of the chemistry major; however, the degree's requirements are more comprehensive in chemistry. Please consult the undergraduate advisor for additional information, as this degree is currently undergoing development.
Combined with the courses required for teacher certification, the chemistry major and the chemistry course degree both qualify the student to teach chemistry in secondary schools. Please consult the School of Education for more information about teacher certification requirements.
