Testosterone Molecule
In case you've ever wondered what a testosterone molecule looked like, you are at the right site!
First, we will see a regular two dimensional depiction as you would see in a text book. This image is saved a simple .gif type file. This image is fine, but why not just use one of the dozens of textbook drawings that are out there if you only want a flat image?
If we really want to leverage on the unique capabilities offered by viewing this molecule on a computer, we should view it in a 3 dimensional format and that is where CHIME and RasMol come in. The below figure is much more useful as it can be rotated and viewed from all angles. Anyone who is having a difficult time identifying the finer points of the structure will find this handy. Not only can the structure be rotated with the mouse to gain new perspectives, but it can be enlarged and viewed in new and different ways to highlight various aspects of the structure.
