Tom Foseid Retiring - January 2, 2008

Since I understand rumors are running around the building, I should tell you that two days ago, I received a letter from Tom Foseid, indicating that he would retire January 2, 2008. As you all know, Tom has been an institution here at Chemistry, and his departure will not be easy, but he has promised to help us find a superb replacement for him. I will tell you more as we firm up some plans for his replacement (and his retirement party). In the meantime, he is not leaving soon, and you have plenty of time to go tell him how much he has meant to you and the Department.
