About This Position

W. Nuhsbaum, Inc has developed strong market share in key territories and is looking to apply proven growth strategy to the Wisconsin territory where University of Wisconsin-Madison is the primary account. This position will concentrate initially on the UW-Madison campus and the surrounding Madison area with future growth potential into western Wisconsin depending on performance. Major research institutions such as Morgridge Institute for Research, Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery, and Carbone Cancer Centers are a few of the key accounts on campus. The Madison area is heavy in Biotech and Industrial companies as well.

Future development of this position will expand to cover Stevens Point, Eau Claire, La Crosse, and Platteville as well as many other universities, private schools, and technical colleges. Expansion into biotech, industrial, and manufacturing companies in the western territory will also be considered upon development and success of this position. The territory is rich with potential and we are looking for a sales representative with a willingness to learn, a lot of energy, focus, and ambition, along with a science background to serve existing customers and continuously grow the customer base.

Responsibilities

CUSTOMER SUPPORT:

The Sales Representative is the primary point of contact for customers in need of support with troubleshooting software, hardware, or questions related to the operation of installed systems. Although the Sales Representative is the primary point of contact, there is an extensive network of people to assist the Sales Representative to solve problems and provide technical support to the customers.

SALES ACTIVITIES:

The Sales Representative is responsible for leading the entire sales process from identifying leads and demonstrating products to closing sales and following up for support. Leads are provided by the manufacturers and W. Nuhsbaum, Inc. marketing efforts (Leica Microsystems, Hamamatsu, Media Cybernetics, etc). Leads are also generated through Sales Representative workshops, vendor shows, and networking. Throughout the sales process the Sales Representative will communicate with the customer,

schedule demonstration equipment, provide a product demonstration and complete knowledge of the products, and provide quotes and information to meet the customer expectations.

SALES PERFORMANCE:

The Sales Representative will be responsible for working toward annual sales goals through lead and opportunity management. As incremental sales goals are met, the Sales Representative will receive bonuses which contribute to the total compensation.

Requirements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • BA, BS or MS degree in biology, chemistry, physics or a related scientific field
  • Experience in working with microscopes is desirable
  • Sales experience in selling products of a technical nature is desirable
  • Laboratory experience is a plus
  • Must be comfortable with numbers as pricing and quoting will be a daily routine
  • Candidate must have a valid drivers license
