Abstract

An ethylene complex of a thioether-ligated Cu(I) center was synthesized and characterized by Raman spectroscopy and EXAFS. Long Cu(I)-C bonds and low Cu-C vibrational frequencies reveal weak binding of the gaseous ligand.
