Abstract

The use of synchrotron spectromicroscopy in neurobiol. is definitely beyond the feasibility-test stage. It produced a large variety of results, mostly concerning the microscopic localization of transition elements in neural cells. We will first describe the exptl. technique, then we will discuss some specific exptl. examples, including the uptake of cobalt and zinc in rat cerebellar neurons. [on SciFinder(R)]
