Job description

The vaccine process development group is expanding with new projects, and is looking for new members to support the increase in activities. The group provides lab support for the large-scale manufacturing of vaccines already on the market and those in the process of being commercialized. As such, this position offers many opportunities to learn and develop new skills in the biopharmaceutical industry. There are multiple contract positions open to a variety of disciplines and skill levels in the sciences.  Contracts are for 1 year with the potential for renewal and/or conversion into full-time roles.

Candidates should have prior experience with biochemical laboratory tools and techniques used for protein purification (such as buffer preparation, column chromatography, tangential flow filtration, etc.). The individual should also be able independently and proactively execute procedures and experimental objectives in a timely and detail-oriented manner. The ability to learn quickly and work in a fast-paced team environment is desirable. Additional responsibilities include bioanalytical analysis and maintaining an electronic laboratory notebook.

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • Degree in biochemistry, biotechnology, chemistry, biological or chemical engineering, or a related field
  • Bachelor’s with 1-5 years of lab or industry experience
  • Master’s with 0-3 years of lab or industry experience
  • PhD with 0-2 years of lab or industry experience
  • Flexible work schedule – occasional shift work
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team

 

Preferred:                                                                        

  • Experience working with protein purification and analysis
  • Experience with AKTA/Unicorn systems or other forms of large-scale column chromatography
  • Experience with tangential flow filtration – microfiltration/ultrafiltration
  • Experience performing analytical work using HPLC/UPLC Experience working in a GLP/GMP environment
  • Excellent organization skills to multi-task and manage multiple projects/assignments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
