The Glass Shop can work with scientific researchers to:

Develop concepts and ideas into workable glassware designs. These designs are then fabricated into one-of-a-kind prototypes. As research progresses, the glassware design can be modified as required.

Produce glassware from drawings, sketches or prototypes. Modifications are easily accommodated.

Repair or alter existing glassware.

Provide on-site repair, installation, alteration or troubleshooting of glassware systems.

Provide instruction in scientific glassblowing.

Serve as a resource for technical, material and product information.
Specifics and Procedures

Jobs are done on a first-come, first-served basis. Exceptions may be made for repairs that are critical to an ongoing research project. Every effort will be made to complete a job that is required for a project deadline.

Glassware brought to the Glass Shop for repair must be thoroughly cleaned.

Tubing is supplied by the Glass Shop.

Researchers must provide the materials required for the job (e.g., ground glass joints, stopcocks, flasks, etc.)

Special items required for a job can be ordered by the Glass Shop.
