Former Employee Dianne Mitchell Dies at 55

Dianne K. Mitchell, age 55, of DeForest, WI, died Friday, April 15, 2011 after struggling for many years with health issues. She was born March 25, 1956 in Beloit, WI to Kenneth and Delores Mitchell. Dianne worked for the Chemistry Department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison for 30 years. Dianne was the first and only one of her siblings to earn a bachelor's degree (History at UW-Madison). She loved reading and all things cats. She is survived by seven siblings, Gary (Shari Cohn) of Madison, Robert, Karen Hinickle and Kathy of Deforest, David (Elizabeth) of Madison, Judy Smith of Deforest and Susan (Frank) Connor of Madison; nieces and nephews, Lars, Havah, Nicole, Kelly, Becky, Amy (Nate) Venckus, Micheal (Julie) Smith and Angela; and great-nephews and nieces, Maven, Brandon, Kalli, Abby and Jaden. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law Jason Hinickle. Services will be held Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, 5202 Cottage Grove Road. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in Dianne's name to the Humane Society or Hospice Care.
