MINOR AGREEMENT FORMS: The Graduate School requires that the minor program be outlined in an agreement which is approved by the Department no later than halfway through completion of the sequence of minor courses. The minor requirement is expected to be completed by the end of the third year of graduate school. Minor agreement forms are available in Room 1221.

Orders for cap and gown must be placed at the University Bookstore no later than April 15,1999. Degree candidates and escorts will receive a letter containing further instructions about one month before commencement.

A Reminder To All Graduate Students:
The Graduate Student-Faculty Liaison Committee (GSFLC) would like to inform fellow graduate students that applications are once again being accepted for Travel Allowances for conferences from May 1 through October 30,1999. This year we anticipate financial reimbursements will fall between $400 and $500 per graduate student.
The eligibility requirements for Travel Allowances are as follows:

NMR Facility Manager. The Department of Chemistry, National University of Singapore, is currently looking for a full time NMR facility manger to take care of the departmental NMR service. The Laboratory houses two 500 MHz (a Bruker DRX500 with PFG and a Bruker AXM500), one 400 MHz wide-bore solid state NMR system (Bruker AVANCE-400) equipped with CP/MAS, HRMAS and microimaging facility, one 300 MHz (Bruker ACF300) with sample changer and a JEOL FX90Q NMR spectrometers. We hope to appoint a candidate with PhD in Chemistry or related discipline with good experimental and theoretical knowledge in NMR spectroscopic techniques. Candidate with post-doctoral or industry experience with expertise in advanced NMR instrumentation will be an advantage. The successful applicant will have extensive experience in maintaining and troubleshooting NMR spectrometer hardware, and expertise in maintaining, upgrading, interfacing computer software and hardware. Responsibilities include: Classroom and laboratory teaching a broad spectrum of lower division chemistry courses, including organic chemistry and health science chemistry.
