The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. Faculty Positions. Biochemistry and Environmental/Analytical Chemistry. The Chemistry Program at Stockton College is pleased to invite applications for two faculty positions: a tenure track opening in Biochemistry and a one-year opening in Environmental / Analytical Chemistry. Biochemistry: We are looking for a biochemist with a molecular or structural orientation to complement capabilities of the current biochemist and molecular biologists at the college. Duties will include teaching a course in biochemistry and working with other faculty on the evolution of the newly approved Biochemistry / Molecular Biology degree, jointly offered by Chemistry and Biology faculty members. Familiarity with modern molecular biological techniques, including PCR or cloning methods, is desirable, although facilities for crystallography at Stockton are limited. Research, with undergraduates, will ideally complement work currently being done at the college. Environmental / Analytical Chemistry: We are looking for someone interested in instrumentation and its applications to the environment. Teaching duties will include courses in environmental chemistry and in instrumental analysis. In addition, this person can work with faculty in Environmental Studies to develop a curriculum in environmental chemistry. The local ecosystems include ocean and bay areas, salt marsh estuaries, pristine and fouled rivers, New Jersey Pineland forests, and America's largest Geothermal energy field. Stockton faculty have been working on research projects in all of these areas, and would welcome a colleague who was interested in studying any of them. The college has very good relationships with county, state and federal environmental agencies and has worked with them on answering specific questions. Students are commonly involved in all aspects of these projects. More Information about Stockton College and its programs can be found on the web at: http://www.stockton.edu . Informal e-mail contact may be made with Edward Paul at: paule@stockton.edu , although applications must be sent by paper mail. Applications for these positions should send a cover letter, resume, and three letters of recommendations to: Dr. Lynn Stiles, Dean, Natural Sciences and Mathematics, Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, Pomona, NJ 08240.
