YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for monitoring chemical processes and testing products as part of quality assurance
  • Works with production team member to ensure process methods are met and obtained
  • Key person in charge of chemical testing laboratory
  • Provide technical support to the Manufacturing facility
  • Get samples from chemical tanks/paint barrels for daily routine quality checks
  • Perform chemical checks like titration, conductivity, pH and other paint testing’s like viscosity and % solids
  • Accurately maintain and complete the Process Monitor sheet, record all results in database and create spreadsheets
  • Conduct inventory on all chemical raw materials
  • Report data to Team Leads and work with Maintenance team on troubleshooting/addition of chemicals to ensure right specs for the process are maintained
  • Perform daily tasks within laboratory to ensure compliance with Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) and Good Laboratory Practices.

 

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor's Degree (BS) in Chemistry or related science field required
  • Experience in an Analytical Lab environment working in a manufacturing setting
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel
  • Strong knowledge of analytical techniques, understanding of proper chemical handling, use, storage and disposal
  • Organized, neat record keeping, ability to multi-task and work
  • Experience with basic laboratory equipment such as balances, and titration equipment
  • Comfortable working with hazardous materials and understanding the proper chemical handling, use, storage and disposal and safety equipment
  • Must be knowledgeable of Safety Data Sheets and the metric system
  • Must be willing to work a rotating shift, that includes days, nights, weekends and holidays
  • Preferred: Experience in E-Coat/ Paint and/or Chromate Conversion coating process and with Paint testing’s: Viscosity, conductivity, % solids, etc.
