Caroline Quinn Burke died unexpectedly at her home in Madison on June 8, 2012 due to chronic medical conditions. She was 29. Caroline was known for her quirky sense of humor, her passion for music and progressive politics, and her ease in making friends. Caroline graduated from Verona Area High School in 2001 and attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison. At UW-Madison, she was involved on the Memorial Union Music Committee.
She is survived by her parents, Mary and Steven Burke, her daughter Nina, her sister Stephanie, her step-brothers Jason Burke and Casey Nicks, her step-parents Susan Burke and Stephen Nicks, her grandfathers Douglas Burke and William Quinn, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her infant sister Jennifer and her grandmothers Celestine Burke, and Mary Jane Quinn.
A memorial gathering of family and friends in remembrance of Caroline was held from 12-2 p.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Cress Funeral Home in Madison. The family wishes to thank the many people and organizations who supported and helped Caroline with her long struggle with alcohol and anxiety issues.
