The University of the Air

Materials Science of Free Radicals 

Design and construction of magnets made of various supramolecules of free radicals and carbenes with magnetic metal ions will be discussed.

Biographical Sketch  

After having received D.Sc. degree in 1962 from U of Tokyo and served as Research Associate at U of Wisconsin (67-69), Iwamura became Associate Professor of U of Tokyo (70), and Professor at IMS (77), U of Tokyo (87), Kyushu U (94), NIAD (98), and U of the Air (00). He was President of the Chemical Society of Japan during 2001-2002. His research interest lies in a wide range of the synthesis and analysis of organic molecules of theoretical interest. His accomplishments described in more than 400 original papers in international journals earned a number of awards as represented by The Japan Academy Prize in 03.
