Join us for an awards ceremony recognizing undergraduate chemistry majors, undergraduate chemistry researchers, and chemistry graduate students. Student award recipients and their guests are invited to a reception in the Shain Atrium at 2:30 p.m. prior to the event. Department members attending the ceremony are invited to join the reception at 3 p.m. The ceremony will begin at 3:30 p.m. An undergraduate poster session will follow the ceremony.

State Building Commission Grants Approval for Construction of Chemistry Building Project to Proceed

On Dec. 14, the State of Wisconsin Building Commission approved a key design report and granted the authority to construct the Chemistry Building Project.

Following months of planning and design work, the university submitted for review a 35 percent design report, which represents a significant milestone in the design process. The approval of this report signifies that the project is ready to move to the final design and bid phases.

Undergraduate Office Welcomes Jessica Baran

Jessica Baran (jlbaran@wisc.edu) has joined the Undergraduate Chemistry Office as an Undergraduate Services Specialist. Jessica graduated from UW-Eau Claire in 2015 with Bachelor of Business Administration in Management, and with certificates in Organizational Communication and Leadership Studies. She has experience in both student services and event planning. We think she will be a great asset to our unit and we are very glad she is here!
